  CH2 Building

Nullarbor Forest Timber Industries were approached in 2004 by The City of Greater Melbourne to be involved in the most innovative environmentally friendly project ever undertaken in Victoria. We were asked to supply enough recycled material capable of creating a screen to clad one entire facade of a ten story city high rise.

These timbers were acquired from some 200 derelict
and demolished houses.

20’000 Lineal meters of
4”x 2” house frame timbers
were utilised in this project.
270’000 old and rusty nails
were removed by hand and
sent for recycling.
These timbers without a value added demand such as the CH2 project may never have been bought back to life and would have most likely found its way to land fill.
Not one tree has been felled (plantation or otherwise) for the CH2 Screen Project!
“Beautiful Australian recycled Timbers and our precious environment”.
