Outdoor areas are often neglected areas of home and working spaces.
Those who truly value the visual impact of exteriors as material pathways to architecturally designed spaces understand that just as much thought needs to be applied to what exists on the open-aired side of the door.
The use of hardy, sustainable timber products in entries, outdoor eating areas, urban courtyards and walkways can add extreme aesthetic appeal to a design. Timber that is in harmony with the unpredictable nature of the elements and can withstand all kinds of weather conditions.
Unlike the commonly used Merbau, our Spotted Gum Decking is a sustainable, eco-friendly product, selected by timber experts who have been working on projects for many many decades. It ticks all boxes for us: Primarily, it does the job and lasts through the seasons. It assists builders reduce harm to the environment, not add to it. And it's also aesthetically pleasing.
The use of Merbau, alternatively, should be consciously reduced. It adds to poor regeneration and even when merbau trees are replaced by legal logging procedures, the tree itself is simply not sustainable. Merbau trees are often old growth, with sparse populations even in their native regions. They are slow to mature - with some taking up to seventy five years or more to reach full maturity. They're far better left untouched.
Spotted Gum is readily available, highly regenerative and designed by nature to be used for outdoor decking purposes.
